GST InvoiceNow is an initiative that requires GST-registered businesses to transmit invoice data directly to the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) .
GST InvoiceNow is based on the international Peppol framework, a standardised digital way of sending and receiving invoice between the accounting systems of two parties. Invoice data is sent securely through the InvoiceNow network via an accredited Access Point (AP) provider. A copy of the invoice data is automatically transmitted directly to the IRAS. For businesses transacting with non-InvoiceNow users, invoice data must still be recorded in the solution and transmitted to IRAS
This digital process streamlines tax administration and is part of a wider effort to improve business efficiency.
This mandate is being progressively rolled out with key dates listed below:
From 1 May 2025 2025: Soft launch for early adoption. IRAS encourages all GST-registered businesses and businesses applying for GST registration on/after 1 May 2025 to transmit their invoice data to IRAS using InvoiceNow-Ready Solutions via the InvoiceNow network.
From 1 November 2025: Mandate for newly incorporated companies that register for GST voluntarily.
From 1 April 2026: Mandate for all new voluntary GST-registrants.
There are plans to progressively extend mandatory participation to new compulsory GST registrants and existing GST-registered businesses.
