How can AI help make space missions safer and more reliable? Discover how SAP is exploring AI innovation to support spacecraft operations.
In space, every second counts. From monitoring spacecraft systems to identifying potential failures, mission teams must make critical decisions using vast amounts of complex data. Discover how experts from the German Aerospace Center (DLR), SAP, and HPE are exploring how artificial intelligence and cross-industry collaboration can support the future of space exploration.
Bringing business AI innovation to space
Spacecraft generate enormous volumes of telemetry data, making it challenging for mission teams to monitor every system and identify potential issues manually. In this video, discover how SAP is exploring the potential of its tabular foundation model, RPT, to reconstruct missing values in telemetry data from computer systems aboard the Columbus module of the International Space Station (ISS).
By analyzing large volumes of time-series data, AI models can help assess spacecraft health, identify anomalies, investigate potential root causes, and reveal cascading effects across connected systems. These capabilities could help mission teams make faster, more informed decisions and detect potential failures earlier.
Exploring the future of AI-powered spacecraft operations
The future of space exploration depends on collaboration between people, technology, and industry partners. By combining human expertise with AI-powered insights, organizations can explore new possibilities for managing increasingly complex spacecraft operations.
This video highlights how SAP is applying its AI research to mission-critical challenges beyond traditional enterprise environments, demonstrating the potential of data-driven intelligence to support safer, more resilient operations.
