Introducing the Performance & Goals AI Agent in SAP SuccessFactors | 2H 2025 Release Highlights

See how the new Performance & Goals Agent in SAP SuccessFactors helps managers prep for reviews in minutes using SAP Business AI.

In this 2H 2025 release highlight, SAP SuccessFactors Performance & Goals introduces new capabilities that use SAP Business AI and automation to transform how managers prepare for performance discussions. Senior Director of Product Management Geoff Fettner shares how the new Performance & Goals Agent helps managers save time while improving the quality of every people conversation.

Starting with a simple request in Joule, the agent analyzes employee data such as goals, feedback, and past reviews to generate a clear summary of each employee’s overall performance. In just a few moments, managers get an at-a-glance view of strengths, development areas, and trends, so they can spend less time digging through forms and more time preparing for meaningful dialogue.

Because the agent is connected to your business data, it can also provide tailored insights into specific areas for improvement—plus smart suggestions on how employees can develop and reach their goals. Managers can even ask the agent to create short, clear talking points to guide respectful, confidence-building feedback conversations.

The video also introduces new business rules integration in the performance management form. With powerful conditional logic, your performance forms can automatically adapt in real time based on rating values and other conditions—for example, exposing additional fields or adding another reviewer if a very low rating is given. This helps organizations drive more consistent, fair, and compliant performance reviews while saving time for managers and HR.

Together, these innovations help organizations modernize performance management with AI-driven insights, dynamic forms, and guided conversations, all embedded in SAP SuccessFactors Performance & Goals as part of the broader SAP SuccessFactors Human Experience Management suite.

Developer Demo: ABAP Cloud RAP | ISLM Recos, ABAP AI SDK & Review Booklets | SAP TechEd 2025

See ABAP Cloud RAP power recommendations and AI lookups – then generate analytics “review booklets” end-to-end without leaving ADT.

In this SAP TechEd demo, we extend an in-house shopping cart to help new hires get laptops and phones faster, now with product recommendations built on ABAP Cloud RAP. You’ll see how an ISLM machine-learning scenario (trained on the equipment request dataset) plugs directly into a RAP behavior definition, returning ranked suggestions at input time.

We then add a second AI pattern using the ABAP AI SDK: a Gen AI scenario that calls a foundation model to fetch concise product reviews from the web. Prompts, triggers, and results are orchestrated inside ADT, so developers stay in one flow – no tab-hopping.

To close the loop with insight-to-action analytics, we showcase the new Review Booklet capability in ABAP Cloud analytics. From an analytical cube + queries bound via InA, a wizard generates the review booklet app and opens the Review Booklet Designer to tailor pages, measures, and layouts. The result is a Fiori app where business users slice, dice, and save views, like top suppliers, in minutes.

Developer Demo: AI Agent Interoperability | Open MCP Tools on SAP BTP | SAP TechEd 2025

See how SAP’s open, agentic stack lets you build practical AI agents – using your favorite tools with governance on SAP BTP.

In this SAP TechEd demo, we show how SAP’s developer experience opens up to the broader agent ecosystem so you can build with the tools and frameworks you prefer, without leaving the SAP BTP trust boundary. The session builds an agent that quality-tests a tutorial automatically, combining model intelligence with real tools like a browser and terminal. This reflects SAP’s newly announced agentic capabilities for developers: open interoperability, enterprise guardrails, and faster delivery from idea to impact.

We define the agent’s “brain” with the SAP Cloud SDK for AI (via Generative AI Hub), select a foundation model, and keep prompts in the Prompt Registry for reuse and governance. Tools are attached through Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers—including a Playwright MCP server for browser automation and SAP-specific MCP servers that give agents authoritative access to UI5/CAP knowledge and actions.

Running live, the agent streams its plan, chooses the right tool (navigate, click, fill), validates state, and loops until the workflow is complete—then returns structured feedback. This agentic pattern aligns with SAP’s TechEd updates: Joule Studio to build/extend agents and skills, A2A + MCP interoperability, and centralized monitoring, so teams move fast while staying compliant.

Speaker: Nora von Thenen, Developer Advocate, SAP

00:02 – Ecosystem open: compatible with many AI agent frameworks
00:19 – Build the agent: tools (browser, terminal, grounding)
01:36 – Implement: SDK, model selection & Prompt Registry
02:19 – Run live: stream plan, choose tools, loop to complete steps

Developer Demo: Event-Enable Your CAP App with SAP Cloud Application Event Hub | SAP TechEd 2025

See how SAP Cloud Application Event Hub wires SAP SuccessFactors to CAP apps and automation – so hires trigger downstream processes in seconds.

In this SAP TechEd demo, we event-enable a SAP BTP landscape so a new-hire in SAP SuccessFactors automatically triggers actions across systems. We start by reviewing the landscape (SAP SuccessFactors, SAP Build Process Automation, a custom CAP app) and then configure an eventing formation in SAP Cloud Application Event Hub, SAP’s broker for distributing events across cloud applications on BTP.

Next, we define an integration dependency in the CAP service to subscribe to specific SAP SuccessFactors new-hire events, and flip the subscription on in the Event Hub UI. From there, creating the employee in SAP SuccessFactors emits events that the CAP app and SAP Process Automation receive immediately – demonstrating real-time, event-driven flows with centralized control.

We also highlight how this pattern extends across your agentic stack. SAP’s latest innovations add MCP Gateway support in SAP Integration Suite so developers can expose APIs and integration flows as agent-consumable tools – standardizing discovery, governance, and security for AI agents you build or extend in Joule Studio.

Speakers: Ajay Soreng, Developer Advocate, SAP

Developer Demo: MCP AI Agents | VS Code, AI Core & MCP | SAP TechEd 2025

See SAP’s dev stack in VS Code with AI Core and MCP – build UI5/CAP apps faster using agentic assistants and SAP-delivered MCP servers.

In this SAP TechEd demo, we bring SAP’s developer experience together in one place – VS Code and SAP Business Application Studio – so you can work end-to-end across UI5, CAP, Fiori, ABAP, and HANA with a consistent, open-source IDE foundation.

You’ll meet Cline, an AI coding assistant powered by SAP AI Core to keep prompts, data, and usage inside the SAP BTP trust boundary. The assistant plans, executes, and fixes tasks while staying compliant and governed for the enterprise.

The star of the show is Model Context Protocol (MCP) support and SAP-delivered MCP servers (e.g., CAP, UI5, Fiori). Agents can consult authoritative documentation, understand your model, and perform actions—like generating a CAP service and a freestyle UI5 app—directly from VS Code. This aligns with SAP’s new agentic capabilities: Joule Studio for custom agents, open interoperability (A2A + MCP), and centralized monitoring so teams can build fast with guardrails.

For architects and developers, the takeaway is clear: SAP’s agentic stack connects your preferred IDE and assistants to governed SAP data and tools, accelerating delivery without compromising clean-core principles.

Developer Demo: SAP Knowledge Graph | SAP HANA Cloud + LLM Q&A | SAP TechEd 2025

See how SAP HANA Cloud’s Knowledge Graph powers LLM-ready Q&A – grounded in real business context and SAP data.

In this keynote demo for developers, we show how to activate the triple store in SAP HANA Cloud and use the Knowledge Graph engine to model relationships (people, demos, capabilities) as RDF triples, then query them with natural language. The ontology captures who is presenting which demos and which SAP capabilities they cover; SAP HANA stores it as triples and exposes it for SPARQL queries.

To make this practical, we connect a Python package to the same SAP HANA instance, instantiate the graph, and route a plain-English question through an LLM available via SAP AI Core / Generative AI Hub. The model auto-generates SPARQL, executes it against SAP HANA, and returns precise answers (including links, thanks to RDF). This pattern, graph semantics + LLM planning, grounds AI with business context to reduce hallucinations and improve answer quality.

We also touch on how SAP’s broader data fabric makes this stronger: SAP Business Data Cloud innovations and SAP Snowflake (as a solution extension) help keep data where it lives while sharing semantics and governance – so graphs, agents, and analytics can work across your landscape without brittle copies.

Speaker: Witalij Rudnicki, Developer Advocate, SAP

Developer Demo: Joule Studio in SAP Build | Build Skills & AI Agents | SAP TechEd 2025

See how Joule Studio in SAP Build lets you build custom skills and AI agents – connecting to SAP data, automations, and approvals in minutes.

In this SAP TechEd keynote demo, we extend Joule with a real workflow: configuring a Joule skill that retrieves process data, triggers automations, and returns user-ready responses. In Joule Studio, you define the skill’s description (for precise triggering), set input/output parameters, and choose actions such as calling backend APIs, sending messages, or invoking process automation – all grounded in SAP context.

You’ll see the skill orchestrate an HR new-hire flow: reacting to a SAP SuccessFactors event, surfacing the latest instance, listing approval tasks with owners and due dates, and even approving the task – end-to-end monitoring included. Then we switch to Agent Builder in Joule Studio to create a custom AI agent for relocation benefits. We choose models, add pre/post-processing, attach tools (e.g., calculator), ground the agent with policies via SAP AI Core document sources, and compose an email through the previously built skill, before releasing and deploying.

For developers, this aligns with SAP’s newest agentic capabilities on SAP BTP – open, extensible building blocks (skills, agents, integrations) and developer tooling to move from idea to impact faster, while keeping governance central.
