Amer Sports Makes Strategic Play with SAP S/4HANA Cloud

MADRID SAP SE (NYSE: SAP) announced that Amer Sports, a global group of iconic sports and outdoor brands, including Arc’teryx, Salomon, Wilson, Peak Performance, Atomic and Armada, has embarked on the RISE with SAP journey to accelerate digital transformation.

Recognizing the limitations of on-premises legacy systems, Amer Sports moved its Arc’teryx brand to the SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition, fashion and vertical business solution, establishing a scalable and future-ready digital core. Amer Sports wanted a solution that would offer cost predictability with a subscription model, regular technological upgrades and access to innovative technologies such as artificial intelligence, sustainability tracking and advanced analytics.

Additionally, Amer Sports is a beta client for the SAP Business Data Cloud solution, providing feedback on the recently launched software-as-a-service solution that unifies and governs diverse SAP data and smoothly connects with third-party data.

CAF Drives Digital Transformation with Cloud Solutions from SAP

MADRID SAP SE (NYSE: SAP) today announced that CAF, a global leader in urban rail and bus systems, has successfully migrated to SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition.

This milestone marks the first step in CAF’s digital transformation journey to a sustainable and efficient manufacturing process.

Moving from a heavily customized on-premises landscape to a standardized one in the cloud, Beasain, Spain-based CAF has smoothly integrated SAP solutions into core business functions including master data management, record to report, source to pay, sales and transport, engineering to stock (including manufacturing) and workforce management.

“CAF is now set for future success, as our new technology landscape allows us to better comply with business requirements in a complex and fast-changing market,” said Guillermo Apellániz, CAF’s digital transformation director. “Additionally, we’re now able to leverage other technologies or capabilities such as AI with a focus on company efficiency.”

Continuing on its digital transformation journey, CAF is looking to enhance the integration of its data with the SAP Business Data Cloud (SAP BDC) and SAP Datasphere solutions. CAF will also tap into the SAP Databricks capability in SAP BDC to help it manage data from its various product lines of buses and trains. SAP and Alibaba Group Partner to Accelerate Cloud Transformation

As part of the collaboration, Alibaba Group will leverage SAP Cloud ERP Private for its enterprise infrastructure, as well as a joint go-to-market strategy aimed at delivering accelerated value for customers worldwide.

Alibaba, the Chinese multinational technology company focused on e-commerce and cloud computing, will leverage SAP Business Suite for faster maintenance, smooth upgrades and easier integration of artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities into core business processes. Alibaba Group also plans to deploy SAP Business AI, SAP Business Technology Platform, and SAP Ariba, SAP Integrated Business Planning, SAP SuccessFactors, SAP Concur, and SAP Emarsys solutions to further optimize its technological backbone, enabling greater agility and resilience in serving its vast ecosystem of businesses and consumers.

“Our collaboration with SAP reinforces our commitment to empowering global businesses with world-class technologies,” Alibaba Group Chairman Joe Tsai said. “By combining SAP’s enterprise software with Alibaba Cloud’s robust infrastructure and AI capabilities, we can help customers build smarter, more agile operations.”

The collaboration marks the next chapter in Alibaba’s and SAP’s longstanding partnership focused on enhancing operational efficiency and accelerating innovation for joint customers. A core component of this strategic alliance is a joint go-to-market initiative.

Under the collaboration initially focused on the China market, enterprises will be able to implement SAP Integrated Business Planning and embark on the RISE with SAP and GROW with SAP journeys. It is also planned to be rolled out in Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Africa. With Alibaba Group as a certified hyperscaler for SAP software workloads, Chinese enterprises will also be able to deploy SAP Cloud ERP and SAP Cloud ERP Private solutions, empowering them with scalable, more secure and intelligent solutions tailored to local business needs. Marking a significant step in enterprise AI integration, SAP is also exploring the integration of Alibaba’s large language model, Qwen, to the generative AI hub in SAP AI Core in China to enable enterprise users to access localized generative AI capabilities within SAP software applications and Custom AI applications. In parallel, SAP is exploring the deployment of its AI Foundation on Alibaba Cloud to bring powerful, scalable AI tools to customers operating in China. Alibaba also will be part of the latest infrastructure-as-a-service certification program to support customers running SAP’s enterprise solutions.

Heineken Quenches Data Thirst with Artificial Intelligence

MADRID SAP SE (NYSE: SAP) today announced that Heineken, one of the world’s largest brewers, has introduced an internal artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot, “Hoppy,” to enhance business processes and offer real-time data access.

With operations in over 70 countries and more than 165 breweries worldwide, Heineken was looking to streamline data access so business users could quickly find and analyze data in their preferred language. Hoppy, an AI-driven chatbot that runs on SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP), represents a significant leap forward in Heineken’s commitment to streamlining internal processes and empowering its workforce.

By leveraging advanced natural language processing with data across multiple systems, Hoppy eliminates the need for time-consuming manual searches and allows business users to focus on more strategic and impactful tasks.

With the SAP Datasphere solution, the company now has a unified data model for improved data access and scalability. Additionally, with the generative AI hub capability integrated with SAP BTP, Hoppy enables natural language querying, visualization and more secure data access.

Since Hoppy was introduced within platforms like Microsoft Teams, Heineken has seen the time knowledge workers need to retrieve information fall to one minute from 15 minutes. With SAP Business AI capabilities at Hoppy’s core, Heineken also is exploring automating repetitive tasks to enhance business processes and streamline communications and decision-making. Additionally, with a unified view across its data, Hoppy can now flag missing cost center information in purchase orders, promoting efficiency and accuracy.

To put this into perspective, imagine you are a people manager. The Performance Agent, via Joule, can alert you that you have a performance review with one of your employees coming up but that they do not have any peer feedback. The agent can work on your behalf to collect feedback from your employee’s peers, summarize that feedback, and prepare you before your conversation.

With many more agents coming, these will collectively work together to reason and execute cross-functional, end-to-end processes.
